Mobile Mentor launches Mobile Device Management Services across the Tasman
6 September 2011 - Trans-Tasman mobile management company, Mobile Mentor, today launches its new mobile device management (MDM) services in a response to a growing need amongst businesses to better manage and secure different mobile devices.
“MDM is undeniably one of the hottest topics today in ICT.” says Denis O’Shea, CEO of Mobile Mentor, “Firstly, the mobile workforce is increasing and a new generation of employees are using smartphones like they would use a traditional PC, accessing sensitive corporate data. And secondly, the trend is for more employee purchased devices, such as iPhones, iPads and Android devices, connecting into the enterprise’s network and systems. So the need for better security and device management is rapidly becoming apparent to IT departments around Australia and New Zealand.”
Mobile Mentor has partnered with AirWatch, one of the leaders in Gartner’s MDM Software magic quadrant, to effectively secure and manage corporates’ iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows and Symbian devices. Mobile Mentor is using AirWatch’s software to deliver MDM-as-a-service across all compatible smartphones and tablets -on both sides of the Tasman.
As part of the new service, Mobile Mentor works with clients to define or refine their mobile policy and then manages the mobile fleet according to that policy. This includes ‘over-the-air’ enrolment and configuration of devices, policy enforcement, application management and security measures such as passcode enforcement, remote wiping and locking of devices. It will also integrate AirWatch’s roaming cost alerts into its own Mobile Expense Management Service to help mitigate bill-shock.
